Healthy Adults May Need Less Sleep As They Age
A study in the Feb 1 issue of the Journal SLEEP suggests that
Healthy older adults can expect To have a reduced “sleep need”
and to be less sleepy during the day than healthy young adults. Findings confirm that it is not
normal for older people to be sleepy during daytime, requiring naps. Consultation with a physician is recommended for sleep disturbances or sleepiness during the day.
Dark Chocolate May Lower Stroke Risk
Now, this is some good news! Recent studies find that eating dark chocolate may lower your risk of having a stroke or lessen the likelihood of dieing after a stroke. The health benefits may come from flavonoids that are thought to prevent cell damage. The findings, however, are not yet conclusive and doctors are quick to point out that too much chocolate can be harmful.
